Open Day 2015
The importance of community was strongly felt last Friday at Iluka Public School’s Open Day. A large number of parents, carers and extended family members attended this special celebration of learning to mark Education Week. Students had the chance to enjoy morning tea with their families and then show them some of the fantastic learning they have been doing in their classrooms. The whole school assembly included a performance from the school choir and a special presentation acknowledging Iluka Public School’s Waterwise status from Clarence Valley Council Mayor Richie Williamson and Mr Matt Foley. During his address, Principal Mr Bradmore paid special tribute to the dedication and talents of Iluka Public School teaching staff and reaffirmed the importance of the relationship between the school, its families and the extended community for ongoing success. Many families stayed on after the assembly to enjoy lunch with their children and wander through the quality selection of books on offer at the book fair held by librarian Mr Jones. Iluka Public School staff and students would like to thank all families who attended for making it such an enjoyable and successful experience.
